Ministry Teams

Lutheran Women’s Ministry League (LWML)
This is a group of women within congregation who provide support of mission and ministry throughout the world by means of mite box offerings.  “Mite” is based on the Biblical account of the widow's mite (Luke 21:1-4), the mite box is intended for regular contributions of "mites" - offerings above and beyond the support given to congregation.

Social Ministry
Our congregation has many opportunities to serve one’s neighbors in the community through Social Ministry programs. These include the following:
·         Meals on Wheels – delivering hot meals to shut-ins
·         Volunteers Enlisted to Assist People (VEAP) – volunteering time and making contributions of food articles, money, or school supplies for needy people
·         Habitat for Humanity – through our AAL branch
·         Loaves and Fishes Too – serving free meals the fourth Monday of every month
·         Families Moving Forward – housing families in need two times per year
·         Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) – packaging meals for  FMSC; a Christian organization that ships food to more than 60 countries around the world

People wishing to volunteer for these programs should contact the coordinators mentioned in the directory for each year, or watch for sign-up opportunities on the bulletin boards.

Tape Ministry
All of our services are taped and tapes will be made available on request (call the church office). Shut-ins and others on our regular tape ministry list are mailed tapes each week. Phone the church office to be added to this list.

Women’s Ministry
Berea Women’s Ministry offers many opportunities for women of the congregation to get involved. Some of the activities include: Mother-Daughter Banquet, Spring Salad Luncheon, Father-Son Banquet, Women’s Retreat, and the Fall Festival.

Youth Ministry
Our youth programs are conducted for Senior High, Junior High, and Elementary School young people. The activities of these programs vary from year to year. Parents are encouraged to be involved in planning the banquet each fall, and to stay informed through the communications of the parish.
